Altered books – the art of taking an old unwanted book and altering it into a thing of beauty. Would you like to know how to make your own family heirloom to be handed down through the generations? Let me guide you through all the basics, treating the paper, to gesso or not to gesso, hidden draws, flaps and pockets. This week will be everything you need to set you off on your altered book journey with style.

• An older hardback book at least 2inch thick
• Gel Medium (I use Dina Wakely)
• I inch paintbrush old
• Any size matchbox
• Dylusions paints
• Blending tool and foams
• Dylusions stencils
• Double sided tape
• Glue Sticks
• Dylusions collage sheets
• Dylusions stamps
• Dylusions postcards and canvas
• Dylusions – number 10 tags
• 1 piece of acetate
• Dylusions cutting mat and scalpel
• Any ephemera, charms etc
• Dylusions journal block
• Inky water brushes to colour
